lets focus in this post on the video stop issue.

for tvheadend we have another psoting.

So what do you want me to test and to share with you?
    xbmc logs?

can you remove nvidia driver, you don’t have such card, right ?
command line : opkg remove xf86-video-nvidia
add this boot line parameter : enable_mtrr_cleanup mtrr_spare_reg_nr=1
then reboot, test one video …
for now i’m rebuilding from scratch with new libdrm and new intel-driver (that’s your video card ?)
    what returns
    cat /proc/mtrr ?

Yes i have a SandyBridge i3 with a HD2000 Intel graphics card within the CPU.

    How to i add “enable_mtrr_cleanup mtrr_spare_reg_nr=1″ ?

    Output of /proc/mtrr:

    reg00: base=0×000000000 ( 0MB), size= 4096MB, count=1: write-back
    reg01: base=0×100000000 ( 4096MB), size= 1024MB, count=1: write-back
    reg02: base=0x0b7800000 ( 2936MB), size= 8MB, count=1: uncachable
    reg03: base=0x0b8000000 ( 2944MB), size= 128MB, count=1: uncachable
    reg04: base=0x0c0000000 ( 3072MB), size= 1024MB, count=1: uncachable
    reg05: base=0x13fe00000 ( 5118MB), size= 2MB, count=1: uncachable

Ok added it to syslinux.cfg like this:

    label unetbootindefault
    menu label Default
    kernel /ubnkern
    append initrd=/ubninit vga=789 persistent quiet splash loglevel=3 persistent enable_mtrr_cleanup mtrr_spare_reg_nr=1

But doesn’t help, it is even worse, XBMC is only crashing but not restarting anymore.

can you test this iso : http://download.openbricks.org/geexbox-devel-20111221-r13645-i386.iso
latest drm and intel with latest patch from xf86-video-intel tree
edit : remove the option if it isn’t better

Here is the latest dmesg: http://pastebin.com/bw26L2Xm
Seems that there are no more nvidia errors

… But as far as i tested video playing now, it seems that the ISSUE is the VAAPI !!!
If i turn VAAPI off in the System/Video settings, XBMC acts like it should -> if i stop a video XBMC returns to the video menu

Maybe you can focus on that.
