    Hello, don’t know if it’s posted on the right place…
    Does someone could update the Netatalk package? I have some bug with the 3.0.4-1 version (unable to log). The 3.1.6 is out since august. I need the arm package (I’m on cubox i-4).
    Thanks.

    you need to install acl package :
    http://download.openbricks.org/cuboxi/acl_2.2.52-1_armv7.opk
    and here is new version of netatalk :
    http://download.openbricks.org/cuboxi/netatalk_3.1.6-1_armv7.opk

    in fact you need to install it with :

    opkg install http://download.openbricks.org/cuboxi/netatalk_3.1.6-1_armv7.opk

    it’s not yet incuded in our snapshots tree,
    so looking at what you you have done, I think you are still using the old version.

    Just wanna say I’m getting similar errors with netatalk 3.1.6
    My config file is pretty standard. When I try to log in from my Mac as a guest user I get the error “The version of the server you are trying to connect to is not supported…” and when logging in as a root user, I just get the ‘shaky-box’ error.

    ;
    ; Netatalk 3.x configuration file
    ;
    [Global]
      time machine = yes
      vol preset = default_for_all_vol
      log level = type:error
      log file = /var/log/netatalk.log
      uam list = uams_dhx2_passwd.so,uams_guest.so
      zeroconf = yes
      save password = yes
      afpstatus = yes
      mimic model = RackMac
      admin auth user = root
    [default_for_all_vol]
      file perm = 0664
      directory perm = 0774
      valid users = @users
    [NAS]
      path = /mnt/NAS

    I search a lot and finally what I found is to add ‘passwd file = /etc/afppasswd’ to afp.conf.

    [Global]
    vol preset = default_for_all_vol
    log level = default:info
    log file = /var/log/netatalk.log
    uam list = uams_dhx.so uams_dhx2.so
    save password = yes
    passwd file = /etc/afppasswd
    afpstatus = yes
    zeroconf = yes
    mimic model = RackMac
    hostname = CuboxAFP

    And I was able to log. You have to add your user to the file afppasswd.

    What I can’t find now, is how to automaticly run afp at the start of the cubox… As soon as I log out from SSH, the process is shutdown. And I can’t find how to do it for this one with systemctl… Any help?

    I do “netatalk” or “afpd”, I think one is kind of shortcut for the other…

    can you create /lib/systemd/system/netatalk.service with :

    [Unit]
    Description=Apple-File-Server
    After=network.target avahi-daemon.service
    [Service]
    Type=forking
    PIDFile=/var/run/netatalk.pid
    ExecStart=/usr/sbin/afpd -P /var/run/netatalk.pid -F /etc/netatalk/afpd.conf
    Restart=always
    RestartSec=1
    [Install]
    WantedBy=multi-user.target

    then enable it : systemctl enable netatalk.service
    start it : systemctl start netatalk

    It’s not working. In fact I have to use “netatalk” to launch it. So I replace the execstart line with
    “ExecStart=/usr/sbin/netatalk -F /etc/afp.conf”.
    When I do “systemctl start netatalk”, netatalk seems to start but without my config file (/etc/afp.conf)…

    Edit:
    When enabling the service I saw that:
    ln -s '/etc/systemd/system/netatalk.service' '/etc/systemd/system/multi-user.target.wants/netatalk.service'

    So I edited the ‘/etc/systemd/system/netatalk.service’. But no more luck, but I think I’m not far…
