I have GeeXboX on Nvidia 9300 chipset connected to TV via HDMI and I got no sound.
In Ubuntu I solved this problem by unmuting S/PDIF in alsamixer. But I can’t access it from my GeeXboX

Hi, have you tried switching to vt2 and use the amixer command line utility to unmute S/PDIF? Hope that works for you.

I have 2 cards and 2 controls. IEC958 0 and IEC958 1. I’ve set IEC958 0 to “on”. But it has no effect. I cant access to other card, amixer returns “invalid card number” to all cards exept 0.

Sill have no sound over hdmi
Maybe i could install latest alsa drivers with alsamixer somehow?
