Hi to all,
I have a strange problem with geexbox (devel) on cubox.During last days I configured my geexbox to use an external hd attached via USB. In detail the HD is the one from my old laptop inside an adapter which expose both USB and eSata port.
During early days it works perfectly but I noticed some strange mount/unmount sequence and I guessed that it was a cable fault. Instead to buy a new USB cable I bought an eSata cable. I attached the HD via eSata but I got no life signals: hd led was off and geexbox didn’t see it.
So I bought a new USB cable and I attached the HD to cubox and now led works but geexbox don’t see it!! What’s happen?
lsusb and fdisk shows nothing!

Do I have to reinstall geexbox from scratch?
August 15, 2013 at 06:22 #6792Hello,
test the usb cable with your external disk on another pc. If it works, maybe it’s Geexbox or Cubox the problem.
If it doesn’t work. maybe the problem is your disk / cable / or adapter.August 15, 2013 at 09:38 #6794I attached the HD via eSata but I got no life signals: hd led was off and geexbox didn’t see it.
How did you power it ?
August 15, 2013 at 14:52 #6795How did you power it ?
ops…. I didn’t!
I didn’t think that esata doesn’t have “self power” as the USB port!
Thank you for the trick! I’ll try to power it.Meanwhile I would like to inform you that I think the USB port of the HD adapter is gone! Yesterday, before writing here, I tried attaching it to my laptop and it worked. But today, after your answers, I tried it again and it don’t work anymore! I Think it’s damaged.
Now I’ll try to attach it via esata, after powering it!!
